Scheda sentiero
A splendid panoramic hillside itinerary between the historic villages of Montaretto and Reggimonti, reaching the junction with the Alta Via delle Cinque Terre.
The trail starts near the locality of Vandarecca (Bonassola) and climbs with a gradual gradient towards the hillside village of Montaretto, a hamlet of Framura known for its intact rural atmosphere and sea view. From Montaretto, the route continues at mid-slope, alternating Mediterranean scrub with cultivated olive-growing areas, until it reaches the old settlement of Reggimonti, characterised by the beautiful Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Beyond the village, the trail enters a wilder wooded area dominated by maritime pines and chestnut trees and climbs the mountain slope more decisively. The itinerary ends where it meets the Alta Via delle Cinque Terre (AV5T, former CAI trail no. 1), the important ridge hiking route linking Levanto to Portovenere.
The route develops along historic mule tracks and well-defined trails. It presents no technical difficulties, but care is required on the final woodland section in the event of heavy mud after intense rainfall. Hiking shoes are recommended.
