Scheda sentiero
An evocative connecting route between the historic village of Lavaggiorosso and the panoramic Passo del Colletto, a crucial junction for the trails of Levanto and Bonassola.
The itinerary starts from the old village of Lavaggiorosso, a locality renowned for its typical Ligurian architecture and the Church of San Sebastiano. From the village, the route follows the historic connecting trail, classified within the regional network, heading west towards the mountain saddle.
The trail develops mainly at mid-slope, alternating level sections with short climbs. The first part crosses areas once intensively cultivated, where dry-stone walls and old olive groves are still visible, before entering Mediterranean scrub and sparse maritime-pine woodland. The route ends at Passo del Colletto, an important geographical saddle situated at approximately 280 metres above sea level. This pass is a fundamental strategic junction in the local trail network: from here, hikers can descend towards Bonassola through the historic village of Montaretto, continue towards Monte Rossini or return towards the centre of Levanto along the historic coastal paths.
The trail is well marked and presents no particular technical difficulties or exposed passages, making it suitable even for less experienced hikers. As with all trails in the area, the beaten-earth and stone surface may become slippery after recent rainfall or in high humidity. Sports shoes with a non-slip sole are recommended.
