Costa - Foce del Prato - Case Serra (SVA / Sentiero Verdeazzurro section)

This itinerary is a key segment of the renowned Sentiero Verdeazzurro (SVA) between Framura and Deiva Marina. The route starts from the hillside village of Costa di Framura, located at approximately 289 metres above sea level at the foot of its characteristic Carolingian tower. Leaving the village, the trail heads west along a level and clearly defined path through lush Mediterranean scrub. In a short time it reaches Foce del Prato at 320 metres above sea level, a panoramic wooded pass associated with historic rural activities and serving as an important junction for the summit of Monte Serro or the branch towards Punta Apicchi. From here, the route continues along the cool northern slope of the mountain. The environment changes noticeably as the path enters a shaded chestnut wood equipped with several rest areas. The trail ends at the historic Case Serra, also known as Case Serro, at 289 metres above sea level: a small rural settlement overlooking the Deiva Marina valley and offering a splendid view over the eastern Ligurian coast.

• Wear hiking shoes with a lugged sole: although the route is almost level, the chestnut-wood surface accumulates damp leaves and mud after rainfall and can become slippery.
• Pay attention to the red-and-white SVA (Sentiero Verdeazzurro) markers. Near the junctions at Foce del Prato or private agricultural plots, consult the metal signs to avoid leaving the main route.
