Scheda sentiero
Una ripida e spettacolare ascesa panoramica che parte dal litorale di Levanto e rimonta la suggestiva dorsale della Costa delle Streghe, regalando scorci mozzafiato sul golfo e sulla Riviera di Levante.
Trail 671 is one of the most characteristic and vertical access routes leading away from the Levanto coastline towards the mountain watershed. The itinerary starts from the western area of Levanto, in the locality of Vallesanta, near the former railway embankment and Villa Rossana. After crossing the provincial road towards Bonassola, the track becomes a rocky unpaved route and tackles a very steep direct ascent along the entire ridge of Costa delle Streghe. As elevation increases among maritime pines and fragrant Mediterranean shrubs, the view opens freely over the entire Gulf of Levanto and Punta Mesco. The trail reaches the panoramic summit of Monte delle Streghe, at 288 metres above sea level, before descending briefly to a saddle. From this plateau, the itinerary passes near an old disused quarry of the renowned Red Marble of Levanto, an interesting geological formation of serpentinite and calcite, and ends at the important crossroads of Passo del Colletto, at 460 metres above sea level. From here, hikers can continue towards the summit of Monte Rossola or turn towards the inland villages.
