Costa - Acquafredda - Cava Serin - Castagnola Stream (REL trail 653)

Trail 653, recorded in the register as GSPA65362PE, is a vertical and mid-slope connecting route entirely within the municipality of Framura, close to the boundary with Deiva Marina. The itinerary starts from the hillside hamlet of Costa, known for its fourteenth-century Saracen tower, and begins descending towards the inner valley. The track crosses the wooded and rural area of Acquafredda, alternating Mediterranean scrub with sections of coastal pine woodland. Continuing downhill, the trail passes near the historic locality of Cava Serin, an old site linked to local quarrying activities and the ophiolitic geology of the area. The route ends upon reaching the bottom of the gorge at the Castagnola stream, a watercourse flowing between the reliefs before reaching Deiva Marina. Hikers mainly use this trail as a connection for inland traverses towards Case Vigo or for descending on foot to the Deiva coastline.

• Wear stable hiking boots with a lugged sole: the descent towards Cava Serin and the gorge includes steep sections, loose stones and slippery leaves.
